Kdo jsem? [Who am I?] is a short, personal 3D film. I appear as a character also called Matteo, a direct version of myself, trying to work out who that is and get out of the shape I was given.
Each frame came out of a real struggle to escape what was expected of me. The turning point is small and almost stupid: Matteo meets an ant, and that's the moment something opens and he sees he could live closer to his own voice.
The 3D was intentionally degraded by running it through a CRT television. The damage isn't decoration, it carries the feeling of being trapped, and keeps the anxiety visible in the image itself.
